2025 topster rewind
is this thing on?
as i mentioned in an old art & music post, one of my friends told me he thought he listened to everything until he met me. i think this topster pretty well incapsulates that.
in case you missed it, this is a topster of every album i listened to *in full* this year. granted, some i had already heard in full save for a song or two, but i counted them anyway because i feel like listening to an album as a full body of work is important.
by FAR my favorite album has to be fancy that - pinkpantheress. it's one of the few albums that i rated a 5/5, and it came out this year. i don't think i've fallen in love with a body of work that fast in a very, very long time.
continuing off that, here's a small breakdown of my favorites and least favorites...
top 5 favorite albums
- fancy that - pinkpantheress
- 1 of 1 - shinee
- vapen & ammunition - kent
- the fame monster - lady gaga
- seven and the ragged tiger - duran duran
it was a hard pick between ragged tiger - duran duran and wish - the cure for the last spot, but i think i go back to ragged tiger more than i do wish at the moment.
top 3 least favorite albums
- tilt - irene & seulgi
- a mark... - dashboard confessional
- bodies - thornhil
honestly, i could've put this at 5 albums. these were the ones that disappointed me the most, especially irene and seulgi's. kpop has witnessed an extreme fall off within the past few years, but if you ask someone who's been into it longer than i have, they'd probably say the same thing about the years i thought kpop was good.
as for a mark and bodies, i just expected more. both had been extremely hyped online and when i got halfway through both i just remember thinking they were so bland. bodies especially. it felt very octane-core. it sucks because i see them associated with other artists i like (particularly loathe), so i felt really disappointed when it wasn't what i expected.
